The sound of wind instruments is really unique and Natives from different parts of the world have been playing them for hundreds of years. Our music is created by playing flutes, panpipes, drums and other musical instruments from the Natives of North and South America, creating relaxing and healing melodies for the Spirit.
Drums
To Native Americans, these are one of the most important instruments. They are made with wooden frames or a carved and hollowed-out log, with finely tanned buckskin stretched taut across the opening.
Native American Flutes or Love Flutes
These are traditional musical instruments, known for their haunting beautiful tones and soothing effects. It enables the player to take incredible journeys within his or her Spirit and the listener to find unparalleled peace.
Andean Flutes
These wind instruments are the best known in the southern Andes and date back to Hispanic times. They are made out of a tube of bamboo, cane, wood or bone with one end beveled into a mouthpiece. These flutes have five or six holes which produces a range of notes, depending on how the performer blows through the flute.
Pan Flutes
This is the world's oldest instrument from which other wind instruments or keyboard instruments (organs) are derived. Pan flutes are known in almost all of the continents. The most popular name of the instrument "Pan flute" comes from the name of the Greek god "Pan" who was the mythical pre-creator of the instrument.
Panpipes
This is an ancient musical instrument based on the principle of the stopped pipe, consisting usually of ten or more bamboo pipes, gradually increasing in length. It is a popular folk instrument.
Charango
This instrument is modeled along the lines of a classic guitar, however, it is much smaller and features ten strings. Traditionally the Charango had an armadillo shell for its sound box, but today, wood is more common. This instrument was born when the Spaniards prohibited Natives from practicing their ancestral music, and the Charango was a successful attempt to make a Lute that could be easily hidden under a garment such as a poncho.
Ocarinas
It's an ancient flute-like wind instrument. It is one of the oldest musical instruments on Earth, usually made of ceramic and oval-shaped. We play the Ocarina in our music to create sounds of different type of birds. A large Ocarina sounds like an owl and a smaller one provides enchanting bird sounds.
Rainsticks
Are ceremonial musical instruments used to invoke the rain spirits. They are traditionally made from dead cactus tubes with hundreds of cactus spines hammered into the tube. Natives today also create beautiful hand-carved rainsticks. We use the rainsticks with our music to make sounds of rain or running water and also they are used for relaxation.
